Kawaii Monthly Review July 2014

Kawaii Monthly is a subscription service from Oyatsu Cafe in Chiba, Japan.  Every month, my daughter gets five kawaii items in her box.  They are so unique and fun!

Oyatsu Cafe
This sheet describes all of the Japanese items.  I'm so appreciative to get these explanations!

Doraemon Leisure Sheet
Doraemon Leisure Sheet ~ We've never heard of Doraemon before, but he is a popular Japanese character/robot-cat that's been around since 1969.  This is a waterproof leisure mat that can be used for picnics or lying by the pool.  Honestly, I can see my kids sitting on this while playing with their Legos.

Cocoon Massage Balls
Cocoon Massage Balls ~ Inside this package are 4 cocoon balls that clean your pores and moisturize your skin.  Each cocoon can be used up to 3 times.  I love the beauty products that come in the Kawaii Monthly box because they are so interesting!

Retro Japanese Fan
Retro Japanese Sensy ~ Olivia got a brightly colored folding fan.  It's decorated with the Kiku (Chrysanthemum) flower.  The flower is a symbol of Japan and its the emblem of the Japanese Royal family.  This is one way to keep cool in the summer!

Puchitto Kudamono Apple
Puchitto Kudamono Apple ~ This is similar to taffy, yet different.  Puchitto means squishy.  This is a squishy, chewy, stretchy piece of candy.  I was able to snatch a small piece before it disappeared.  It was really good and Olivia demolished it in record time!

Sanrio 3D Deco Stickers
Sanrio 3D Deco Stickers ~ Hello Kitty puffy stickers!  They made it just in time to decorate those back-to-school notebooks.  There is an assortment of pastel, jeweled, and felt stickers.

Kawaii
I pay $18.99 for this box, which includes free shipping from Japan.  Kawaii Monthly does an excellent job sending a variety of items that are Kawaii related.

  1. cute! i don't think i've ever seen a sheet like that before. looks like it will be very useful.

just wondering why you picked this one over kawaiibox.co (you mentioned both in a previous post). is there something that stood out with this particular company?

  2. Honestly, our cats have taken to the sheet! They LOVE laying on it. It kind of cracks us up!

I had looked at Kawaii Club from the UK, but it was more expensive. I decided on this because it comes from Japan and has free shipping. We also got the Kawaii Box from Super Kawaii Pop in CA, but they are having a lot of problems with not delivering their products to paying customers, and not replying to communications. (See June Kawaii Box post)

I am definitely looking at Kawaii Box Co as the replacement box. It has a lot of items and free shipping! Have you received a box from this company?

    1. no, i haven't but i've seriously been thinking about it since seeing hollycopter's unboxing (http://thehollycopter.com/kawaii-box-giveaway/). it looks like it's jammed packed with all kinds of stuff. it looks to be same price as kawaii monthly and has free shipping too. kawaii monthly is interesting because of it a variety of different types of stuff (i wouldn't have expecting those cocoon things or a fan, but that's great for summer) but kawaii box co seems more focused on character and super cute stuff that i would normally think of when i hear "kawaii".

  3. The super kawaii pop box is not even worth buying. My boyfriend wasted his money doing a 3 month subscription. My first box I was way dissapointed with what they sent. There items. It was not a variety of things they show on the reviews. No cute little squishy, no candy, no cool stuff that the reviewers show. I would expect the box to be like the ones on the review but IT IS NOT. I am still waiting for my July box and it is already the last week of July. I am never subscribing to superkawaiipop ever again!
