Loot Crate Review February 2015

Loot Crate is a subscription company that caters to those who love comics, video games, and the sci-fi genre.  Each month they announce a new theme and curate a box of great loot around that theme.  February 2015 brings us "Play", which celebrates the games we play.
Loot Crate Volume 19 takes a look at the history of game controllers.

Loot Crate has 4 subscription plans:
monthly - $19.99
3 months - $57.75
6 months - $113.70
12 months - $215.40 + bonus gift
They include a collectible pin each month that illustrates the theme.

Loot Crate February 2015
Ready Player One by Earnest Cline ~ While I was waiting for my photos to upload yesterday, I started this book.  I just finished reading it and it was awesome!  This really made me love Ryker's Loot Crate.  Cline definitely knows how to reach his readers and take us on a great quest.  This book is a great walk down memory lane and sooooo perfect for the Loot Crate audience.

Loot Crate February 2015
Firefly Online Game Code ~ This code unlocks the premium ship that was featured on Loot Crate's Firefly fan video.  Firefly online will be released on iOS, Android, Windows OS, and Mac OS.

Rock Paper Scissors Dice
Rock, Paper, Scissors, Dice Game ~ These came in a velvet bag for storage.  They are black, white, and Loot Crate orange.  This definitely cuts down on cheating hands!

Waka-Waka Poster
Waka-Waka Poster by Manny Peters ~ This is a 9"x13" poster of a Pacman Atari cartridge.  The artist, Manny Peters, created it as a blueprint design.

Mini Munny
Munny ~ Let your imagination run wild with this blank vinyl figure.  Looters received a kid figure Mini Munny that can be designed with markers or other media.  There is a Munny design contest this month for Looters.

Superfight The Loot Crate Deck
Superfight Card Game ~ This is the Looter edition of Superfight.  It has exclusive cards and scenarios you won't find anywhere else.  The deck has 100 cards and comes from Skybound Games.  How good are your persuasion skills?

Loot Crate February 2015
Hexbug ~ Nothing like a good Hexbug for the cats in our house!  Ryker got a Hexbug Larva, which slinks around the floor in a creepy fashion.  These things freak me out.

I wasn't sure how well I'd like this Loot Crate since I prefer comic and movie related items, but I really enjoyed this shipment.  Ready Player One absolutely made this box a hit with me - I loved the story!  Ryker liked drawing on Munny and playing with the Hexbug.  Next month's Loot Crate theme is Covert!

  1. The box turns to an actual board game. You use the rock paper scissors dice and in the magazine are the little game pieces. Your kids will probably enjoy it. The game is very easy to play.

    1. Thanks! My son enjoyed it. I really like the idea of getting a 2nd use out of the Loot Crate boxes.
