This is Bill Nye's fourth Quarterly Co. box. His book, Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation, was released last month. In conjunction with the book, #NYE04 is themed around evolution.
Cardboard Safari DNA Helix ~ ($40.00) This product was designed by Luis Rodrigalvarez and made in Charlottesville, VA. It's recycled cardboard that can be assembled and decorated to your liking. Cardboard Safari also has other unique cardboard creations such as ray guns, animal busts, and human skulls.
DNA Double Helix Bow Tie by Cyberoptix ~ ($40) If this item doesn't scream "Bill Nye", then I don't know what does. I got a navy bow tie with DNA strands screen printed in silver ink. Cyberoptix Tie Lab is a young company that specializes in hand-printed neckwear and pocket squares. They put a creative flare to everyday mens accessories.
Exclusive Bill Nye Designed Coaster from Coastermatic #2 of 4 ~ ($25 set of 4 coasters) These coasters are awesome! I'm really curious as to whether this was actually sketched by Bill Nye or by someone else. He titled the sketch "Homological Comparison" because it shows the similarities in bone structure between birds, bats, and humans. In about six more months, I should have a complete set of Bill Nye designed coasters! If you have photos on Instagram, you should check out Coastermatic. They take your Instagram images and apply them to coasters so you can bring your stories to the table ;-)
#NYE04 was worth over $80 and full of unique scientific conversation starters. I admit that a signed copy of his new book would have been an awesome addition to the box. His next box will probably ship around March - any guesses to his next theme?
